Clutch in Melb replace/ rebuild
Hi Guys
Clutch is starting to slip, getting that horrible smell and gear changes feel notchy.. also noticed the clutch pedal has a drop.. so I checked the master cylinder and had to top this up.
So thinking of replacing both master and slave cylinders and clutch.
Two questions for anyone that has been through this:
1. Any recommendations for installation in Melb and approx labour cost??
2. No difference between LHD and RHD cars regarding clutches as I was think of getting it from the US.
OEM clutch and lighten flywheel for approx $680 AUD
3. Or is it worth rebuilding?

No differences LHD/RHD.
As an example the Clutch Master Cylinder is about $USD80 so yeah, order in the US.
You'll save on the clutch too but freight might kill you. If you're looking for OEM style them just buy an Exedy HD from ebay.

AUS2000.. the Exedy Part No. KHC06 is the one ur talking about or is there a Exedy HD?

You think its worth getting a new flywheel or just machining the OEM unit?

I believe that is them.
Basically if the flywheel needs machining it is toast. But unless it's been abused it should be ok.
I just cleaned mine up with some sandpaper to ensure there was no residual on it.

I'm also looking at getting my clutch and flywheel done.
Just ordered an Exedy Heavy Duty one, HCK-7201HD.
Ordered the flywheel from america, ACT ProLite Lightened.
i was originally looking at fidanza but after reading a lot, i decided against aluminium. I heard its more prone to failing (which is terrible at 9000 rpm) since its made of different metals due to the expansion rate of aluminium and the bolts/rivits coming off - though i heard using locktite can help prevent this but i didnt want to take the risk.
I'm also looking at places to get mine done. Checked out JetSpeed, Chasers, some place in Box Hill and CRS. CRS is too expensive for me but they seem like they really know their stuff.
