Hi my rear plastic window on my 2000 model S2 is in pretty bad shape (haze and scratches). I've tried cleaning it using the tips already on the forum but it still it won't get much better. The only way to fix it is to replace the plastic.
What should I tell Honda in order to be able to claim the replacement on warranty. I only have 2 months left before it expires.

IF IT'S NOT VISIBLE IT'S ILLEGAL!!!
If they deny the claim, then just drop by your police station and ask for a defect notice.....then PM dhess for legal advise and contacts j/k
Seriously, just drop by Honda and tell them that you have been warned by a police that the rear is defectable and need repair
I regret being busy in the last period of my warranty
Nice to hear from you Dom
How is your car running with the new engine?

I'm having problems with Honda at the moment. I had the rear plastic replaced due to it being ripped from the seal. After getting it back they didn't put the convertible top back on properly. It is now not centered and left right hand side lose which caused it to rip the top. A month later I took it back and they told me that my warranty has run out! Well warranty or not it's their fault, and Honda is at fault for not sending me notice asking if I wanted extended warranty not. Either way my Honda service and Honda Australia is at FAULT! They are now blamming each other.

That's right 9krpm. When I had my clutch tsb done I made sure to check the warranty in case they stuffed something up and broke something expensive. I cant remember the details but if I was you I would ring another dealer and anonymously ask their policy and then try and ring your dealer anon. and try to catch them out.
It sounds as though it was an installation problem so that would make it your dealer's fault. IMO the best way to resolve an issue like that would be to organise a meeting with the three parties and tell them you're not leaving until its sorted.
Sorry to hijack mjaim, I agree with all the comments above but I wouldn't go getting a defect deliberately it more trouble than its worth. Once you get it fixed get a Muz-mat installed that'll stop the new one getting fubar.
