Checking Oil
Hey guys i know this has been covered but when i do a search i cant locate anything as to why my oil level on one side of the dipstick is different to the other side of the dipstick by about 4 diamonds or X's??
Most searches reveal only about 2 X's or diamonds difference between the readings on either side of the dipstick.
Anyone else have this problem??
Is this a problem???

Go for another quick drive and come back, wait 10-20 minutes before checking the oil. Take the reading from the lowest marked side. If you still get a difference of 4 Xs, try inserting the dipstick flipped to the other side and see if the difference is attributed to the dipstick itself or the oil in the engine sump. Make sure you're on level ground. Good luck!

I usually check it when it is cold and has been sitting overnight...
On the low side it is almost at 1 X and the high side is almost @ full...
Why is there such a huge difference?? Could something be wrong???

You should always check oil when it is close to operating temperature as it expands with heat. The ideal method is to check during a drive, but after being stopped for a few minutes, like after you've filled up with petrol.
Don't do what I've done though and fill up, check oil and drive off. Petrol station attendants hate it when they have to get off their stool to shout the Pakistani equivalent of "You haven't paid for your petrol you flea bitten camel snogger!".
