Default C-West copy kit

Hi all, im in the market for a copy Cwest kit (Front bar, side skirts and rear quarter pods)

I can get one delivered to my front door for $815 and have it fitted and painted by a number of different workshops all quoting around $1000.

Speaking to a few workshops, they have said some of the copy kits are of terrible quality and consequently end up costing a few hundred more to install.

My question is... how do you know if you are buying a decent copy kit or a dodgy copy kit?

All copy C-West kits are made out of fibreglass so do you pay for what get?

One workshop mentioned he can get the exact kit in, but guarantees to fit without an issue because his supplier only sells him high quality kits...
his price: $2200 to supply and fit, he showed me 2 pics of a previous job he did fitting the same copy Cwest kit to an s2k, and it looked very professionally done.

Do you guys think I should spend a few hundred $$$ more and have it all supplied, fitted and painted for $2200?

thanks guys

Is the real kit FRP too or is it polyurethane?

I expect if you get a dodgey kit it will end up costing as much and not look as good. And if you've got more than one party involved (seller and installer) they will spend their time and your money pointing the finger at each other.

I would say the $2200 supplied and installed by one party would be the better choice.

Hmm.. CWest can be expensive to buy the real thing. However i think it would be more benifitial for you to probably buy original parts but stage them so you buy the front bar first, the Sill pannels second and the rear pods third. As i have mentioned i am in the market for a CF Hood and i plan to get more but one item at a time is easier on the pocket and keeps me interested and wanting more... just my 2 cents. But if you want the copy then i suggest you buy the sourced and fitted package as when juggling a supplier and fitter you could be up for more charges and it could take longer.

$2200 fitted and installed is pretty cheap relative to what you can spend. Hell, just for the mugen hood you're looking at three times that

its a fibreglass kit, you can get most fibreglass copy kits for under $1000.
the genuine Cwest kit is significantly more, i think just the front bar costs around 2000.

im not really interested in the genuine kit (my wallet does not permit)
i think for 2200 supplied, fitted and painted its a good deal considering i dont have to run around organising a kit

Ahh silly me drew the conclusion that he was offering the genuine kit. No wonder I couldn't believe the price

I agree but be sure to discuss in detail what he considers good fitment and get it in writing prior to forking over the dollars.

Id go with the $2200 kit installed. As others stated, id rather the one person supply and fit the kit, so if anythign goes wrong, there is no finger pointing. $350 bucks for a better fitting kit is not that much to ask for a better quality product.
