you could talk to Adrian at Toda Racing about getting a toda rebuild with a stroker kit?
They have a 2.2L and 2.4L option, as well as lower compression option for FI s2k enthusiasts.
Alternatively, inlinePRO can supply crate engines.

Thanks for the support and advice from everyone here.
At this stage, I'm in touch with Yanaka Imports from ozhonda, been steered towards Honda Wreckers at Narang, as well as Ivan at hipowerracing. My mechanic is also touching base with his contacts for a 2nd-hand engine as well.
I'll be getting a 2nd-hand complete engine from one of these sources. Depending on the condition/price of this engine, I might go for a rebuild.
My mechanic contacted me late yesterday to tell me that I've got a hole in my block, and that he hasn't inspectd the head yet, but suspects it may be damaged as well.
AusS2000, once I get the engine swapped, I'll get him to inspect the head to see if it's still usable for you.

Cool Crazy. Glad to see you're moving forward with this. I think a secondhand engine is the best option. If you do wish to rebuild it my parts cost me $1000 (rings, bearings, bolts and seals) from the US. Probably more locally. Honing the block and polishing the crank was only $200-odd.
When you throw a rod you can often bend valves and even damage the guides but this is still fixable. It's only if you really mash the head that it would be completely unusable.

Sorry for the saga CC!
Could you get some pics of the damage so we can diagnose and prevent future failure for us trackies?
I was suspecting the common retainer failure when the boys told me ur saga. However this sounds more like a spun bearing hmm

Hi,
If you need to get any machining done check out Engine Engineering out at Moorooka.
I got all my balancing and machining done for a previous car there and never had any problems.
