I have decided to go with the Navman 4410. I have the Pocket PC already and with this I have a truly portable/transferable set up.

Is that a hardware add-on for the Pocket PC Aus? I also have a Pocket PC and am thinking this is the most affordable option for me also.

I'd like a Garmin Street Pilot (for it's portability) but they're a little expensive IMO.

It's a Bluetooth GPS and software. I think you're mostly paying for the software.

Unfortunately I have a Compaq iPAQ 3850 (now HP I think) and it's the 3870 that has the Bluetooth module.

A pity they haven't included prices on their site.

I know a few guys over here in the UK with the Tom Tom and they are pretty happy with it.

Did you look at this one Aus ? if so what swayed you towards the Navman ?

It's software that is important. I don't think there are Aus maps for the Tom Tom.

Muz - About $700 from Dick Smiths. And why do you say "Unfortunately"?

check out www.ja-gps.com.au
muz : the hp3850/3870 absolutely sux at bluetooth. my friend gave me one to try out and the bt was dropping out and was so crap i never managed to active sync using bt. i went on the hp/ipaq forums and even the techs on their couldnt help. the only solution was to upgrade the pocketpc software to 2003 which i didnt try. i've looked extensively for portable solution but my prerequisites were : pocket pc +gps +phone.

that currently leaves only 1 option currently avail in oz , the O2xdaII with a bt gps solution .as good as the O2 is it still has a few flaws. so i am currently waiting for either hp6300 or the motorola mpx or the O2xdaIII then couple it with a BT gps unit and software

can't wait

Because I thought the SatNav add-on you mentioned needed a Bluetooth enabled PDA to communicate with. Is this not the case?. I mean.. are there other ways for that model to communicate?
