Battery Required for the S
The battery in my S died on the weekend. I didnt drive it for one day and i couldnt start the car the next day.
Anyways i was just wondering if anyone knew what type of battery should i buy and also where to purchase it from??
Oh also...what would the cost of the new battery be???

You can go for some trick Odyssey battery if you really want but you can just go to a battery shop or mechincs and they will have a compatible battery on the shelf. SHould knock you back about $100 fitted.

Are you sure your battery is knackered ?
Perhaps check the fluid levels / refill with distilled water and pop it on the charger o/night ?
Just something I would do before dropping at least $100 on a newie.

DOH!! Too late now....
I just purchased an Exide Gold battery last night for $82
When i first started the car it idled at about 200rpms but then i drove it around for about 5 minutes and then started it again and it was fine
The car kicks over nicely now & my idle seems to have improved somewhat.
Is it because it has reset the ECU from changing the battery??

dbzerk, where did you get your battery tie down thing?
Can I have some pics? I am in a process of tying my blue top optima too. I had it for a while but have not had time to fix it to the car

I just used the factory tie down. It was a perfect fit as the new battery was exactly the same size as the original battery.
Unfortunately i dont have access to a digital camera to be able to put up pics...Sorry

rev29k, the red and blue top optima are large. They slot into the battery space and leave very little gap. You can't use the factory tie. The only way is to get a belt tie of some sort.
dbzerk, could I have some pics of your battery tie?
Thanks
