I was cruising to work on Friday through Sydney's Northern Beaches when a DeLorean cruised past heading northwards!

These things are rarer than hens teeth and it was a nice surprise for the day.

A DeLorean! Cool!
They're rarer than hens down here, but not sure about elsewhere.

I remember seeing a documentary on the infamous delorean "super car" on the Discovery Channel. One of the final shots was taken from a helicopter flying over hundreds of deloreans, all the same, all sitting in a lot lookin' sad.

I don't really like them. They look too "boxy", old, datsun-like...

The 1990 Honda integra was apparently based on the delorean, but with "swoopier" looks.

I have a scan of an old 1990 Honda integra catalogue.... Guess who's on the front cover... Go on.. Betcha can't guess...

Michael J. Fox...

wil..

I would have loved to have seen it. I saw quite a few when I was living in Canada and they were all pretty cheap (Renault engines - the North Americans don't know how to appreciate them).

In Australia though it would stand out like dog's balls.

Wasn't it a Volvo engine? I know Volvo and Renault shared the "Douvrin" V6 so maybe it's the same animal.

John DeLorean was also a shady character and managed to get grants from the UK Government some of which ended up in his pockets. By all accounts he wasn't well liked in the US industry either!

Colin Chapman was involved somewhere and when the factory closed, all sorts of dodgy deals were uncovered

I'm going to look out for that car again. It may be resident up on the Northern Beaches where there are quite a few British sports cars (mostly around Avalon/Careel Bay).

I'd love to see a DeLorean in the flesh. No other car better represents the '80 sense of entrepreneurial flair and complete disregard for business ethics. Greed is good!

I did see a TVR Chimaera on Saturday. It was a red convertible and was headed towards the northern beaches. The driver saw me check his car out and smiled and waved.

I might sound primitive, but what does a DeLorean look like . Any Photos?
