audio install
As you guys know the audio capabilities are quite limited in the S so i was wondering what front speakers should i consider to make the audio the best that it can be. Budget wise i want in the middle round $300-$400 max..
Any suggestions guys?and what subwoofers have people install if any and where?? spare tyre location?

You are going to get mixed opinions about speaker brand/quality/price
Best thing to do is go out there and have a listen to them yourself.
Are you running a Stock H-unit? If so i would start with that as an aftermarket h-unit will give you more than factory one and set you up for running amps, speakers and sub.
If you want to leave the factory h-unit in i suggest you get a $200 pair of 6 inch speakers and the best amp you can get for around $200 because you will only notice a small improvement in sound quality if you ran the speakers stright off the factory unit.
Everyone has installed diffrent subs... typical location though is in the tool well..

I have just gone through the whole audio upgrade thing. I chose Infinity Reference Series 6.5'. They go straight in with no huge mods required in the doors.
The head unit has to be upgraded. This will cause you the "dash control" headache, should I keep them or not?? If you want to keep them the Modifry DCI is the way to go. You can order through gofastlabs.com. Make sure you know the brand of head unit you want before ordering it.
Check out DB's install it will give you a good idea.
BTW thanks DB for your help.
Thats my 2 cents!!

Is that the one that dbzerk has had for sale here for months at a great price?
If so, I think you'll find that the Aus version doesn't have the wired remote connector, and that even though the US one does, it's different commands to other JVC HU so won't work with the current DCI. You should do a searck for this model number in the audio forum for details and developments.
