The one that Fisty quoted is probably just an outlier to the usual market price.
Nope. Check some prices out. They're a drug on the market. There's at least 3 at dealers for under $50k, so I can only imagine what private vendors are selling them for.

Reminds me of when I took an NSX for a spin a few years back. It was within a year of the Mustang being officially released in Australia. The dealer told me he had just traded one of the converts, and he had given the owner $50k for it, with 20k on the clock. That's for a car that would have been about $90k on road when new.

I've said it before- ouch.

Why didn't you buy the NSX Fisty? What did you think of it?

Admittedly, the pose factor was superb- I was driving it on an election day and I went past some polling booths; every head in sight was like the ping-pong clowns at the Royal Show. And, it was indeed quicker than what I was then driving (an s15 200SX). But, it was $70k, it was 9 years old, and I thought- that's a sh!tload of cash for a 24 y.o. to be spending on a toy that could then end up costing a lot more (e.g. if the engine blew up). Oh and then there was insurance. Yikes!

I've never been a fan of the Crossfire, but that 1:44.87 time David posted is indeed impressive. Fisty, how much was insurance for an NSX at your age? Oh, and what colour...?

I've yet to drive an NSX, but would love a crack at either version... though preferably the 3.2L

As I mentioned in another thread I was starting to entertain the idea of stepping up to one but in the end it just didn't suit my current lifestyle enough to justify the $80k + insurance etc. If I drove more or had the opp to hit the track more often then I'd do it but currently I'm working 6 days a week leaving and coming home in the dark. On top of that I couldn't drive an NSX to work so I'd also have to keep my lancer as a beater.

I think that the next car(s) for me is either an S2000 or a ute and FF but if I don't stop browsing the classifieds that may change

How's this deal sound to you guys, 2004 black maloo, auto ~30K kms unmarked $40k
My concerns are its depreciation plus I wouldn't really be using the tray and that its black and I don't have covered parking atm.

I dont need more than two seats and I like the look of them but I'm not sure its me right now. I'm going to contact my company's lease company and find out if its worth leasing for me and if they will accept that it is FBT exempt since from what I've read a lot of lease companies wont do it for you even with a letter from the ATO

Here's an R8, 2004, only 5k, extras galore, looks pretty tough- $47k

$40k sounds alright, although I dare say, your concerns about depreciation are well founded.

Plus, who wants a ute, when you could have an s2k?

The only benefits of the ute would be if I could get tax breaks and if I did later on buy a FF but I think that I should cross that bridge when I come to it. That was easy wasn't it Now you just need to help me rationalise whether I should spend 50k on an 02/03 or 40k on an 00/01

What's nicer in person, all red or red/black?
