I heard 'sub-$100K' which usually means $99,995.00 plus on-road costs.

In a Fifth Gear review Tiff mentioned that the crossfire is basically a Mercedes SLK underneath, with a crap gearbox, and a worse driving feel...

He wasn't a fan of it at all.

I thought it was basically a Mercedes SLK that had been altered to suit the American market. Is that right??

It is based on the old SLK.

The only good thing about the original SLK was the roof and the Crossfire Roadster doesn't even have that.

It's perched a little high for my liking.

I'd like to see it look a litttle more like this.

I've never seen or heard of one at Winton or Phillip Island. Perhaps DavidM can tell us if any have been tested?

Yep, it was in the PCOTY line-up last year. The numbers that they got out of it were:
- 0-100kph = 7.27sec
- 400m = 15.07sec
- 1000m = 27.37 @ 194kph
- Winton lap-time = 1:44.87

And as tafkaTMB mentioned, that lap-time was fully credited to the thuge tyres that are fitted to the Crossfire. Still 1:44.87 is pretty impressive no matter what tyres the car has fitted (as long as they are not R-spec).

I was drive this car!
And believe me, it's not a sportscar!!! It's a car for the wife of your dentist or something else!
Absolutly boring! Most of them in germany have also the automatic gear box!
And I don't know how tall you are, but with my 1,88m I have a problem to sit in this car!
Also the Motor is absolutly boring! Nothing against the S2k!

Btw: This car is built in germany in Osnabr
