i don't understand the broom comment?
oh on another sidenote AusS2000, the Boost Juice at the Mall was sold recently (a few months ago), the new owners paid a whooping $600k for it. These guys got suckered into the hype bigtime.
They paid $600k for a biz that has 3 yrs left on the lease with no guarantee that Westfield/AMP will resign them (but most probably will at exorbitant rents).
Now i know for a fact the numbers that they were turning over per week and they weren't fantastic. the valuation for the biz should of been closer to $350k (this was calculated by the accountant for the McDonalds franchisee at the Mall as he was interested in it but balked at the ridiculous price).
The best day that Boost ever did was a little over $5k which isn't too hard to believe as this generally equates to 1000 customers at an average ticket price of $5. 1000 customers for an 9hr day is about 111 drinks per hr, thats about 2 every minute, so their labour costs were astronomical.
either way u cut it, there's only really a few people getting rich from franchises and thats the franchisors or the franchisees who got in at the bottom end and get out at the top end.
retail is such a strange industry and people from other industries don't understand it although they think they do, just because you buy stuff doesn't mean you know how to sell it properly.
just like how i don't go fixing my own car or putting superchargers on them myself (although i wish i could as it seems to be a challenging task).

They sold it for $600K? The original franschise set up cost was $250K. I don't know what the profit/loss was since it opened but that sounds like a win to me.
The reason I install superchargers myself is because I can, and I love it! I could easily have worked the same hours and made enough money to pay someone else to do it, but where's the fun in that.
BTW, keep your eyes open for Atomic Cafes.

However, LOTS of Aussies love all of the above...and beer and wine to excess, and WAY too much smoking, etc. Otherwise none of these things would stay in business.
It's their life, if they want to shorten it, so be it. Who am I (or you) to judge?
Me, I just want to drive 180km/hr on the M4 at 3AM with the top down. We all have our vices

setup was $350k, as i said the only people who profit are the franchisors and the early franchisees.
it's losing cash hand over fist since the new owners bought it.
what's atomic cafe?

hot n fresh, eat three without realising, add a coffee with sugar?
What is the total sugar content? 30 + teaspoons of sugar for brekkie?
