In the early days of this website it was easier to see who the "post whores" were as each post showed the total number of posts by that person. However, since the upgrade we now see the Posts per Day (PPD). Looking back through all of the threads since the Australian Owners forum started the most active have been..........
Replies Views Name of Thread
243 .. 1803 .. Nissan 200SX
188 .. 1258 .. If you had to replace your S2000
113 .. 865 .. S2Ki Social Drive (NSW)
103 .. 942 .. I sold my S2000 to buy a Ford
103 .. 1116 .. Just Purchased new Mini Cooper S
92 .. 107 .. What makes ITR faster than Integra VTI-r
88 .. 3023 .. Takashi
So, if you wanted to start a really active thread you could call it
"If you replaced your S2000 with a Ford, Nissan 200SX or Mini Cooper would it go faster than an ITR driven by Takashi in a NSW Social drive?"
What does this say about us as a group when the major topics are other cars and replacing S2000's? Is there a little insecurity here? Are people having second thoughts about their purchase?
On a less interesting note, the least active threads have been
Replies Views Name of Thread
0 - 12 - Driver Training Day at Qld Raceway
0 - 17 - Help in getting Borla exhaust for Mustang
0 - 20 - Paint Colour codes
0 - 21 - Open Wakefield Track Day 13th July
0 - 23 - Gear/Diff Oil specs
0 - 23 - Feedback on CF pieces
0 - 24 - Yarra Valley Grape Grazing
0 - 38 - Web Site Hosting
0 - 39 - Muz 'Graphite' look gear knobs
0 - 54 - Mobil 1 10w30 in stock
The usual/normal ratio of replies:views is about 1:13. There was a low ratio of replies per view in the Takashi thread. I assume this is because that thread was "hot gossip" that a lot of people were curious to read but most unwilling to contribute to.
To become a "post whore" you should have a PPD of at least 3. Those of us with a PPD of less than one could not possibly be considered.

I think if every topic was about S2000s, then everyone would agree and there wouldn't be much conversation. I mean, you have to love the S2000 to buy one or be in this forum, and once you buy one it's hard to become objective about how good it really is...
It's much more interesting to argue about Nissan 200SX!

The term "post whore" should not necessarily be seen as derogatory. Perhaps it should be taken to mean "active member" or 'good contributor'.
For someone whose posts are not always relevant or helpful perhaps we could say "regular contributor" or in bad cases "serial pest".
We need people who are good at kick-starting threads that attract a lot of views and more importantly, a lot of replies. Bernie from Queensland has been the leader here by starting three of the top ten threads, including number one and number three.
I suspect a lot of our Australian members are like me in that they only look at the Australian owners forum and don't bother with all the other European and American forums unless there is something really specific or urgent that they need to research.
If anyone has the inclination to do so they may be able to make a valuable contribution to the Australian members by scouring through the International forums and finding threads that :
a) have attracted a lot of replies & views
b) are genuinely relevant to Australia
and then starting a thread on that topic in the Australian Owners forum.
