95 RON runs better!

95 RON runs better!
Last few days my local shell has been out of v-power which is what i've always put into the s2. Being too lazy to go to another petrol station, i thought stuff it i'll just put in the 95 RON premium unleaded. I remember reading in the book that the recommended fuel is 95 RON.
I must say that the car runs so much smoother on 95 RON, and in the higher rev range it doesnt get raspy like it does on optimax/V power. You might lose a little teeny bit of power but i think its more than made up for in how smooth and cleanly the car rips around. Since i've been putting 95 ron in i haven't been able to stop ripping the absolute crap out of the car again. Acceleration up to 9k rpm feels totally normal and smooth, i remember on V power when you get to 9 the engine is starting to feel a bit raspy and because of this i wouldn't engage 9k rpm as much. Deceleration is ultra smooth as well.
has anyone else had this same experience? could this be due to the fact that the ECU is programmed to use 95 ron petrol instead of 98? perhaps extra additives in V power are making the car run shitter? I reckon if your using 98 RON petrol, give the 95 RON a try and see for yourself; the bonus is that you will save a little bit on petrol too - not that this was the reason for me swapping over, to be honest if the local hadn't of run out of Vpower i'd still be using it but i'm glad that i'm now using 95 RON cuz the car runs so much better.

No Ethanol there ... it's more or less Optimax rebranded. You're thinking of 'V-Power Racing', which has 5% Ethanol, but also is 100ron.

I can assure you guys that there is no recognisable difference between any of these fuels. It's a bit like the wine taster saying "East side of the hill I'd say, picked on a Tuesday about 11am."
