I use V-power racing or Freedom 98 for my GTR. Now that Vpower racing is permanently $1.40+ around here. I am only using it with a can of Octane booster for track days. For road use I tend to use Freedom 98. For the S2k and C32, I use BP ultimate or Vpower.

I used to use 98RON, but then on a tip from other board members I tried 95RON and found the car seemed to run better and rev out cleaner. Mobil would be my preference as they are apparently the only company who do not use imported fuel (unconfirmed). I would avoid Caltex like the plague as they have been involved in multiple fuel contamination incidents over the last few years.

i used to use shell V power, but have recently switched to the premium 95. While the car doesnt run as hard as V power it seems to run smoother on 95. I find that I dont fill up at doncaster shell opposite the pancake parlour anymore. I used to fill up there but found that my car would run crappy afterwards, i've changed petrol stations and the car runs a lot better now.

We get reports of cars not always starting on the first attempt and running rough on idle. When we tell people to switch their fuel to Mobil or Caltex, the issues seem to stop.

It gets to the point where engine lights appear intermittently and we sometimes replace oxygen sensors.

now that you mention it....yeah on the optimax my car kept pulling a CEL for secondary bank O2 sensor. Since i swapped to premium 95 it seems to have gone away. I found the car used to run raspy on optimax in the high rev range and sometimes would get a weird smell when hammering the car like rotten eggs.

the doncaster shell is by far the worst place to fill up. With the VPOWER it would always run like shite afterwards, i kept thinking it was the car until i filled up somewhere else and noticed the car ran so much smoother. From memory the 95 was better but i steer clear of that petrol station at all costs now.
