Need A J's racing engine
I know over in Japan the J's Racing engine goes for 498000 yen which is 4298 or something like that here in america. I contacted all of the US distributers of J's products and they are charging me way higher than J's racing is charging. If anybody has a connection to J's please help me out
thanks,
Blake

pricing of products is always different in different markets..
the price J's are quoting is a domestic market price... which can be higher/lower depending on the country it is then resold in.
remember shipping, duty, margin for the distributor..can add 20 - 50% more ontop - plus exhange rate which fluctuates...typically the distributor is taking a yearly rate..not a daily rate.

the problem you face is dealing with freight forwarders, which will nickel and dime you to death. i worked at one, and my family's been in that business for decades, so i can tell you that it's not going to be cheap.
tax is not a big deal, what is a big deal is when you get a page of $25~$50 charges ranging from documents to customs brokerage, that's how it adds up. you may get a good price per pound/kilo, but they'll get you somewhere else so make sure you get all the require fees listed.
if you really want to do it directly with J's Racing, make sure to have someone who speaks Japanese on the phone with you so they can walk you through the process. use a reputable company such as BAX Global - they may be more expensive by 3~5% per kilo, but you know there won't be hidden charges.
