Personally I wont even have my S since its in BR right now and Im down here with the Element. So everyone can be jelous of my cargo room and Brett will have his soccer mom micro mini van so yeah.

Actually if the Sake Cafe in Elmwood is the same as the one in Covington, then I'm afraid that Sushi aficionados will be supremely disappointed. I ate at the Sake Cafe in Covington about 3 months ago and I was very disappointed. Allow me to explain... The place was beautiful, it was decorated very nicely. The wait staff was incredible. They were very attentive, and were not upset by any special requests. The atmosphere was perfect. This place had all the makings of a great Sushi restaurant. The problem you ask? THE SUSHI SUCKED!

I didn't want to say anything because this meet isn't really about the sushi. Maybe I just had a bad experience, or maybe I'm jumping the gun... I'm not even sure if it is the same owners. If someone would like to correct my observations please do so. I would love nothing more than to be wrong about this.

Anyway, you can't go wrong with a rainbow roll (california inside, topped with tuna, salmon, white fish, and avacado). It's pretty hard to screw that up anywhere you go. Usually the specialty rolls are quite good too. If you are more into authentic Japanese plated cuisine, I would recommend the beef or tuna tataki. It is lightly seared, sliced thin, and usually served on a small bed of greens topped with a ponzu vinaigrette. Trust me, I know my sushi like the back of my hand.

 

you just had a bad experience...course ive heard the one across the water is bad but the ones over here have always been good

 

Good deal... thanks. They do have a handful of good sushi places here on the Northshore. Unfortunately the best have come and gone...
