ahh.... gotcha. i'm still shocked at the whole Joe's thing though...
well, if we're going to do this, we've got 2 dates to work with... and where do we want to go?
also, is this too short of notice? should we wait till it's cooler?

looks like we'll be doing some waiting i guess, as it seems a bit late in the month to fire something up...
i did some scouting this weekend and found some really nice roads up in the St Francisville area...
so far i think we have 3 or 4 major suggestions...
which of these appeal the most? all seem to be around the 2 hour range as best i can tell.
i'm guessing that someone who is familiar with the roads and area should probably be prepared to lead the way/keep us from getting lost for routes they know... i'm familiar with #1 & #4. moreso #4, as i haven't driven #1 in probably 5+ years.

- a run on hwy 90 from N.O. to somewhere around or past Biloxi
- a run on hwy 182 between Lafayette and Morgan City
- a run on hwy 22 from Donaldsonville to Mandeville/Slidell (?)
- a run North of BR from BR to St Francisville/New Roads, and back to BR.

agreed.
we could try to do something from NOLA to past Biloxi or further on the 11th, since a number of us are already driving that way for the 12th. the Doc and Caroline would have to backtrack or delay their trip to go... and Phil wouldn't be able to make it since he's doing the LSU game that night, but it is an option. a lot of that could be run along the coast, which isn't exactly twisty, but it is scenic.
also, i'm still preferential to the runs along Hwy 22 or up from BR to St. Francisville and that area... not just because they are close, but because the area is pretty nice w/ a good number of twisties.

Wow...you guys still haven't done this yet?? Good for me if the Minister of Want is invited.
The Hwy 22 or BR to St. Francisville sounds really nice, especially with the weather we have right now!

what about Nov 1 for the Hwy 22 run.
i don't know the Hwy 22 run as well since i've only scouted part of it... i think Chip and Brian are far more familiar w/ that run than i....
i do know that the St Francisville route is far more hilly and a bit more rustic... but while it would include a ferry ride across the river, it's more of a drive to get to BR for most of you...
