an option i was considering was working on was an afternoonish loop North of Baton Rouge...
running up through some country to historic St Francisville, across the Mississippi on a ferry to New Roads, and down along the False River and ending at a rather famous award winning creole resturant in that area.
mapping it out on DeLorme Street Atlas -- i get about a 2 hour trip of 100 miles from BR to the resturant (Joe Dreyfus's). the resturant is about 30 minutes West of BR. this would be a longer trip and probably a candidate for a mid to late fall run. a bit more north of this area and into Mississippi hits some very hilly and twisty roads, but that would add some time to the trip...
some twisties, mostly scenic, a couple of wildlife areas... i need to scout it to see how the actual trip looks vs just reading it off of a map.

Phil,
The late time I went to Joe Dryefus's it was awful. I think we ought to stop in St. Francisville to the Myrtles. They have a new resturant, the Oxbow. It was awesome. Definitely would go there again!
Oh by the way, I am up for anything as far as a drive goes.

Myrtles... no way it is HAUNTED!!!!
Sounds like a great trip to me. I think the ferry would be a cool photo op. I also think Ashley would love the drive. So far everything that has been discussed is greta with me.

I believe it was the old Oxbow. From what I understand, they opened a second location in the Myrtles and it did so well they decided to close the old one.
