Default cable prices are ridiculous

Well i am looking at dropping cable and was looking at switching to dish because of prices. what are your thoughts? anyone have good luck with them or had experiences with there customer service? how bout the reception? thanks

I use satellite for TV. They have the most HD programs and the best picture where I live. The cable picture is a joke.

I still use cable for internet however. I don't think you will save any money by going over to satellite TV. Your quality may get better depending on your location.

well looking at the programming options i will save 20 bucks a month but gain 15 hd channels.. major plus. how is your service keith? do you use dish or direct? thanks!

i have direct tv and we havent had any problems out of them. I had it for like 2 years now and it doesnt really go out unless theres like a tornado outside

lol. thanks for the heads up. I am really leaning towards this. Only reason why i kept cable was because of the local channels. but i dont watch tv that much but when i do its on USA and TBS and then of course NASCAR!!

you can get all the local channels with direct tv. i have them and same with dish network well with them you get all the local channels but 1 and i cant remember which one

We have cable... No real issue's: 3 room system, each room has an HD DVR receiver, Showtime, HBO, and Internet for $150/month. I really only watch the movie channels and Seinfeld re-runs at night
I love my DVR though.

We looked at switching to Direct, but I was going to have to pay out $200 for my own HD DVR receiver in my bedroom. F-bomb that. It was going to cost about the same as what we pay now for cable... AND we were still going to have to pay for the internet.


EDIT: Co-workers with Direct TV, are always complaining that they try to double bill them.

thanks for the heads up. i am currently paying 140 for one hd receiver and dvr with net. do you have comcast or timewarner andy? you might be on an old plan since time warner was cheaper and i got screwed when i moved by going to comcasts plan

I use Direct TV and have not had any problems with them or the billing.
