Vitviper Tuning

So now that you've gotten a (presumably) satisfactory tune.. What are the plans? Just freeway pulls? I can't imagine going thru the trouble you have without actually doing something with the car unless its a shower or something?

I ditched F/I because of reliability. My kit was very reliable, but at that hp level and usage, things were bound to break/wear down faster. I have 8 years of F/I abuse on it already. Reliability is important with it taking over daily duties, mountain runs and track events. I really miss the power, but it is for the best. I sold my daily to move out here and go to ASU. I am trying to keep expenses down and focus of improving my ability on track. Broke college life. It feels weird saying that at my age. My car is 15 years old with 120k miles- minimizing stressors is a good idea.
Better to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.

Finish the bodywork, wire in the switches for traction control and boost control, and go dial the suspension in at the track with lower power and creep up as I get more comfortable with it. I will need a better brake solution pretty soon. I don't think blanks and xp10s and 8's will cut it. Basically get gud with it.
I would be lying if I said I won't do highway pulls with it.
Also tacos are fantastic. They go forever and are dog cheap to keep running.

Probably worth a separate thread, but stock calipers with slotted rotors, ducts, motul 600 and carbotech 8/10 won the NASA season a couple years back in a 450who s2k, beating out a large field.
With fresh pads, that's my exact setup. I get usually 5 days from a set of pads. 6 days from the fluid

Really? That was my setup on the last s2000 which I tracked but had mostly stock power. I was using the SOS J hook rotors. I figured the raise in speed would mean that you can overwhelm the heat capacity of the rotors pretty quickly and boil fluid. Do you have any problems in the back?

Since we are talking about pads, look into Winmax brake pads. Winmax w5 is what I use at the track front and back. They are crazy awesome. Initial bite is aggressive and the wear is pretty good so far. Did 2 track days with them so far and doing a 3rd this Saturday.

I've never had an issue running a stock calipers with slowing down in a timely fashion. It's unlikely on the street that you will generate nearly the amount of heat that I do on the track. I have never had an issue with the rear rotors, and only set the front set on fire with running the pad down to metal and then doing a full session.
