Visiting in January - any recommendations?
Hi. I've never been to AZ before, I'm really excited. I'm flying in a day prior to my graduate school interview in January at Midwestern Glendale Campus. Any recommendations for food or sites?

Where are you staying and for how long? Dates?

There are lots of places to visit in AZ. It all depends on your interests and how long you'll be visiting this time. If you get into the school (why wouldn't you?) you'll have more time to explore. Do you want a cowboy steak house, Mexican food, ot just about any type you might like, there are lots of places we can suggest.

Flying in January 12th and leaving January 13th a couple hours after my interview
I have no idea! Just good food and nice sites near Midwestern Glendale Campus because I'm not going to be there that long. I want to fly in and relax before my interview at 7:30 am the next day!
I hope I get in, I heard if you get an interview then you have a 90% chance of getting in. The only reason I may not attend is if I get into a school that closer to home=closer to my S2k =)

Food in the immediate area:
Angelina's Pho & Grill, near Bell and 51st Ave
Sakana Sushi & Grill, 101 and 59th Ave
Old Chicago Pizza, Bell and 59th Ave
Rubios Fresh Mexican Grill, 101 and 59th Ave - It's a chain, but I am addicted to their fish tacos!
If you crave a brewpub, the closest to that area that is any good is North Mountain Brewing on Dunlap and Cave Creek. It's a 15-20 minute drive from there, but worth a stop. They brew their own beers, the food is good, and the shakes are really really good.
If you're exploring, and want a true feel of Arizona - go to the Desert Botanical Garden for a few hours. That'll be about 35-40 minutes from the school.
