Default Track Day 10/6 PIR

Everyone should track their S2000 at least once just to see what this car can do. That's what it was made for.

Karie will be running the S2000 in her first track day and I'm going to run in HPDE1 with her in the A4. Should be fun trying to keep up with my own car.

If you're on the fence about trying your car on the track I promise you'll love it. The HPDE1 instructors are friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly keep you and your car safe. I was thinking about going for years before I actually did it and I regret waiting. It is so much fun it should be illegal!

I'm going to write up an "Arizona Club Racing" thread so we don't have to keep posting these.

Aren't you in DE2 Kirk? I don't think it matters what car you're driving.

Yeah I'm in DE2 but I'm going to run with Karie this time for emotional support.

Plus I don't want to run the slow-ass Audi in DE2. It's embarrassing because it looks sorta like an S4 but it so isn't an S4. I think it is the slowest Audi you can get.

I think I need to do this. When's the signup deadline? Looks like I'll need a helmet and a NASA membership. Any suggestions for getting a helmet?

Do the stock roll hoops count as a roll bar for these track events? It says roll bar requried for convertibles.

Hopefully 3/32 on the rear tires is good enough to pass inspection

Just follow the link above.

Yes you do need a NASA membership.
No we do not have any coupons but you may get a discount through some merchants by being a member.

I have been recommended Helmet Harbor for helmets.

You do need a helmet to drive and there are no loaners available.

If you haven't been before, you need to sign up for HPDE1 through the link above.

Our cars are ok to run with no extra safety features.

Also at PIR on Sunday, Scottsdale Exotics will be running their sessions so everyone is welcome to come out and over the lambo's and ferrari's.

Deadline is the morning of the event as long as it isn't sold out. With that being said the DE1 classes have been pretty full on Saturdays so if you want to do it you better sign up soon.

Helmets-there are some available to borrow but don't count on it. You're spending too much money for track time to lose a session because the helmets are gone. Find a friend with a motorcycle. Anything Snell 90 or newer is fine in DE.

Stock roll hoops are fine, keep yourself under control and hopefully you won't need to find that out.

Tires in good condition just low tread are fine.

Definitely print a tech form and go through everything on the car the night before.

Hope to see you out there!!
