Time for a new battery...
I have read most of the battery threads on here and I decided I want to give the Odyssey 680, or 925 a shot for weight savings (but really because I can get it @ wholesale). Just wondering if this is a bad idea considering we live in HELL for 3 months a year. Anyone running these batts?

I want to put the battery in the trunk! All miatas have the battery in the back and there always stock batterys for the most part. I have had three and all battery's were like new 10 years later! bought a intergra and the battery died and ready for a new one again. to much heat under the hood!

I used the Hawker Genesis battery for about 3 years when I lived in hot Vegas and snowy part of Cali then when it died last year I switched to the Odyssey pc680. I figure if my Hawker lasted 3 years than the Odyssey should be good for about the same. I also have a 2 amp 7 speaker stereo and radar and most of my driving is at night w/headlights on and everything is still good. Only problem is that there isn't much reserve. If you think about it, most regular batteries only last about 3 years out here anyways. So if you've got the hookup on the 680, I'd say do it.

I used to have the 680 if I'm right....it's been alittle while. But I had no problem. But then again I didn't have an aftermarket stereo so that is the deciding point.
It was great though to have a small battery that's lightweight.

Where do you get the 680? I was thinking about the skinny PasswordJDM one.

i run the PC545MJ if im not mistaken. i used it in my Integra and now in my S2000. It lasted a year in my Teg and now about 2 years in the S. Im happy with it and never have problems. i do have a battery tender (trickle charger) that i have wired into it so when i dont drive it for 2-3 weeks i just plug it in and when i go to start the car it starts like it was NEW. The 545 might be on the low end of the cranking AMPS go but ive never had an issue. If i ever buy a new one i will probably get the 680. I got mine from batteries PLUS great price and they match any advertised price also.

Picked up a 680 today @ batteries plus and WOW this thing is tiny! The discount wasn't as much as I was hoping for but im happy regardless.
FYI.. they come in a few different versions. The MJ stands for metal jacket which was about $20 more and didn't seem necessary to me.
