Skibum's turbo journey
Just wanted to share a few pics of my turbo install which is in progress.
Before:
Starting to strip some parts:
Modified the bracket under the headlights to fit the IC plumbing. Also, removed the air pump and all the parts:
FMIC mounted and 1/2 of the pipes are in:
Coolant lines connected to turbo and ready to install:
Turbo and manifold are bolted up and crazy close to the frame. Hope this isn't a major issue:
I worked on the car last night until midnight and got a bunch more done after the pics. Tapped oil pan is installed. Oil filter relocation kit and all coolant lines have been connected. All the IC plumbing has been finished. Bolted up the downpipe that needs to be welded this afternoon.
Today I will be soldering the injector harnesses and the MAP sensor wires, installing injectors, spark plugs, o2 sensor, finish up the exhaust, install oil feed line to turbo and fill the fluids.
The only major issue I see is that coupler off the cold side of the turbo is touching the manifold which will melt it very fast. Other inline users have this same problem and I am not quite sure how to remedy this yet.

I have safely arrived in Tempe. The kit is completed and I drove up from Tucson last nite. I will be heading over to get the tune done in a few minutes.

No without a wheel lock key!
Btw, did you ever get any SOS gauge pillars in yet?

Success has been achieved. The tuning went super smooth and the guys at UMS were awesome.
Results were 378 HP & 291 ft-lbs @ 14psi. We could have hit 400whp but I wanted to be on the conservative side and Tony did just that.
Some final pics:
