sad day in the wortham house :(
so, we had some bad news friday morning. i was driving jen to work, and her friend who runs the stables called her and told her that her young 2 year old colt died during the night. this was jen's baby that she had been training up for the last 10 months, and our to-be family horse til he past away.
unbelievable athlete. most gentle creature you ever met. and more potential than any horse i'd seen in a long time. most of all, he and jen were really close so she's still not taking it well. in any case, i put this together for her and though i'd share.

no. in the best shape of his life and only getting better cuz of all the work he got from jen every day. he was fine at 9 when yvonne (jen's friend that lives there) checked on all the horses. he was his usual perky and attention hungry self.
some time during the night, he laid down to either just get off his feet for a minute or to roll, and he got his head stuck under the bars of the stable. he couldn't get up so more than likely, the stress of his body weight caused his lungs to collapse and he died.
it was a freak thing really. never happened before, and prob will never happen again.

Tell Jen I send my sympathy. What a tragedy. Glad you were able to share with all of us. Thanks for doing that for Jen. A picture is worth a million words.
Tell Jen we are all thinking about her loss and are hoping she will feel better in time. Just a freaky accident. Know you loved him.
