Gallardo clutch is $8000 and they last 4k to 6k miles. Great Design!

Since I expect someone to tell me the clutch is only $3000 I will give you a pro tip! (throw out bearing) look that bad boy up!

I talked to the vendor that sponsored my clutch for the STI about that, They were willing to make one that is a triple plate with a 9" diameter that should handle up to 2000hp for only around 4k and obviously should have a lot better life, all they requested was a used clutch assembly.

I'm actually really curious to figure out all the little things that they do service wise that are completely retarded.

Idk my neighbor had a Gallardo, seemed like a shit box to me, and not a particularly eye catching one, nor was it that fast. The fast thing can be cured of course. ... not that it helps make it less of a shit box... and the looks are the same. .

That ft1 looks cool, but I dont know much about them. ..

If you are going to mod the hell out of it, please don't kill an unmodified S2K. There are fewer and fewer of them left in the world.

I actually love the simplicity of the Gallardo. Not in my book yet at $100k but I hope someday.

I'm also not sold on the handling. It seems every time they come out to the track, they are slower than S2k's but that may be driver issues. I would definitely love to take one out for a spin sometime.

I think it's both driver issues, and the poor factory setup. You have to remember, they set these cars up for the street. I've only driven 4 Gallardos, and I think that the factory setup is just terrible. It understeers and then transitions into snap oversteer. You can't really just power through a corner without the concern of too much rotation, and I think that comes from the crappy stock tire size, combined with the way too soft front sway bars. If the front would stick and have enough camber, you could easily do powerslides and then work on tightening up the rear, but as it stands it's just understeer city. All of the prepped gallardos have HUGE front splitters, and huge rear wings that are usually aren't ran at too high of an AOA I think to give the rear just enough, but not so much that it understeers again. A quick cursory google search shows that the factory alignment is 1.2 degrees of camber in the back and .5! in the front with a hair of toe in all around. It also shows that to actually align these cars is a pain in the ass and you have to use shims. I have no doubt with a bit of work it could be a potent platform... but...

This is what leads me back to the FR cars, I love midengined cars and how they rotate but they just seem so hard to set up and drive hard, but the FR cars are always RWD which never has as much grip.

blah. now i just want to get a z06 or ft1 or something.
