Here is my 2nd cut at the schedule.
Mid-October for weather reasons, probably the weekend of the 12th, 19th or 26th. If it isn't the 19th, we may have participation by some of the NSX Club owners.
Friday
--Team Irvine arrives late evening.
-- Hotel location? How about near Mill Ave., in Tempe, to allow them to go out and have a good time?
Saturday
-- Leave 8-9am to miss most of the RV traffic
-- Drive 7hrs
------ Phx to Greer is about 4hrs via US 60 and the Salt River Canyon
------ Greer to Clifton is 3hrs via Rte. 191
-- Rent a big cabin or stay at a hotel in Clifton area?
Sunday
-- Drive up 191 to NM-180, back to Greer, and back to Phoenix via Hwy 87
----- 368mi, about 7hrs
----- Are we going to have traffic problems if we hit Payson at 3pm in October?
-- Dinner at a good Southwest restaurant. Sam's Cafe at the Biltmore?
Monday
-- Team Irvine departs for home
Please put in your suggestions and help me fill in the details.

Hey Chris,
Guess great minds were thinking alike! Just throwing in my $.02 for route ideas. Looking back, it's really what you already suggested. Think it just helped me to write it out as I was looking at a map.

Ladies and gentlemen,
Our agenda:
Date: October 27-28
Saturday: 60 to 73 to 260 to Greer; 191 preview runs for the die-hards
Sunday: 191 to 70 to 60 to Phx
Sunday dinner: Sam's Cafe at the Biltmore (expect $20/person)
Hotel for Team Irvine: Twin Palms, on Mill Ave. in the ASU bar district
Their was a definite split between those who wanted to drive 191/180 north AND south and those who thought that the route was way too long. Considering that the Irvine guys will be driving 400 miles to Phoenix and 400 miles back to LA, I dropped the mileage. (Sorry, Dick -- I would love to the 191/180 circle.)
Anyone who wants to drive more 191:
can come with Ceo2b and I on our recon trip this weekend.
can drive with the Z3 guys on Sep. 15th
can make another pass while we drive the Irvine guys back to Phx.
Everyone is invited to join us for the recon mission this Saturday, returning Sunday! Use your Labor Day weekend or lose it!

This sounds really fun...and possibly hot I've never been to AZ and can't wait to set rubber on the asphalt! So I'm in on this for now. I'll start badgering my boss for a day off in October...too early right now with our big project starting to take shape.
Thanks for planning this guys!

Great to see all the Irvine guys! We are going to show the best drives in Arizona. And, believe it or not, the weather is going to be absolutely perfect for top-down driving. Heck, you will need sweatshirts at night.
Thanks for the support, Team Irvine!

Tanq, what's your schedule for the preliminary drive this Saturday. I'm a definite maybe for getting outta town when it's 112 in the shade. Wow, I can't believe the Irvine responses already. We'll have to work out their arrival time at the In-N-Out on Dysart, so I can parade over to Mill Ave with them on arrival night. Do you think Tempe and the ASU crowd can handle a bunch of Stookers, even if it's only for one night?
