It's time to sign up for the run to Heber and lunch with the Sahauro Miata Club. The SMC allows one trial event prior to requiring a paid membership to see event details. Let me know if you want to make this run and I'll pass the information along.

End Date/Time: Saturday, September 24, 2011 2:30 PM

As the valley of the sun keeps cooking it's time for a run to the hills! In our case we'll be driving to Heber for a nice cool lunch at Al & Dianne"s RED ONION Lounge.

We'll probably see some straggler Miatas still making their way home when we drive up to Greer on Friday...

The Miata group was a good group to drive and share a meal with, very friendly and welcoming. I went and I was the only S on that drive, with about 7 or 8 Miatas, but we were all roadster lovers. At one stop to pick up another rider, we saw two Vipers, who took off before we did. The drive was good, no breakdowns or flat tires, and the hamburgers were great. We met in Apache Junction in the morning, took 60 east to 77, passing through the scenic Salt River Canyon, and cut over on 260 to Heber for lunch I believe. Coming home was continuing on 260 to 87 back to town, in a less organized run. Basically, everyone goes up together, eats, then is on their own to get back, but several people left and stayed together for most of the way.

The Miata started the current modern roadster craze with a reliable, fun car in 1990. It is still being manufactured and sold today. That speaks volumes about its popularity, long life and overall value as a fun roadster. Please check you attitude when you are invited by a welcoming group of people. This was a fun drive.

BTW - We have no attitudes on this site, just good-natured ribbing.
