Replacement tires...
Ok, I am to the point where I need some rear tires (4/32 tread remaining - 15,250 mi.) and I would like some opinions and or suggestions on replacements. I was considering either buying the OEM S02's (just replace the rears since my fronts have at least another 15k mi. left in them) or changing all 4 to a different brand/model. I have heard mixxed comments on either option and I am wondering what you guys are running/recommend. As far a replacements I was considering either Kuhmo 712's/MX's or Yokohama AVS ES100's. I am asking locally since you guys are familiar with our driving styles here in AZ. Thanks!

I agree, if you are going to get tires for the stock rims, I would stay with the S02's and just buy new rears. Sometimes you can switch the two fronts to run on the inner tread and save some time on the fronts too.
But for our car here in AZ with aggressive driving styles there are no better tires than the OEM S02's. I ran my first rears for like 16k (completely to the steel belt!!) and then got just new rears. Ran the fronts to around 20k after that.
Much cheaper than buying a whole new set. If you go aftermarket with bigger wheels, then you have to look at other options, but for stock wheels here in the desert, OEM is the best.

I bought the Yoko ES100's on my S at around 14-15 k miles
They were great after the first 500 slick break in miles especially for under $500 for all four.
Well I just hit 21 k miles though and the back set is almost worn out... Still investigating the cause

Why buy S03s or some other wet tire for the 2 days a year it rains here? Those S02s are MIGHTY STICKY when the heat's on. You should be able to get plenty more outta the fronts, just S02 the back and be done.
