Project DIY Vented CF Hood
#21
Phil, I personally have not had the pleasure of removing any of the Honda badges from my S. There are several threads in the General Forum under 2000 talk entitled "Badge Removal" that may have a good tip based on the poster's experience. Good luck. Although I have a set of Rick's badges, I have not installed them yet. I did receive the exhaust a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for your help. The new engine has been assembled and installed. Hopefully, we can get it tuned next week. The plans are to tune it (using AEM) for much lower power than it has been designed for in order to see how it responds duirng the summer heat. Presently, we intend to use the Paxton 1200 blower with a/c and intend to keep the boost between 12-14 lbs. Hopefully, we can hook up for a cold drink in a few weeks and check out each other's rides. cya mark

Jesus Christ dude that car is ****ing hot!
just one question though, cutting a carbon fibre hood... I would lean twoards thinking thats a bad idea. I'm not certain as my car knowledge is limited, but CF is woven and when you cut it wouldn't you be breaking up the weave and making the hood prone to splitting? Again, I don't know the answer just something that seems like it might happen.
and for a personalized plate, you can't beat mine... anti child abuse plate reads "OWOWOW"
eheheheh

CBR2200- You don't have nothing to be jealous about you have a S and Audi!
duality- I don't know much about CF either but I know it still holds strong. It lost some support from the top layer being glued to the lower layer but when I'm driving I don't see any flex at all. I do know if the CF isn't designed to break I've heard people say you can be decapitated because the hood won't split it just gets pushed back toward the driver.
