For those that haven't seen this new thread:

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...&threadid=41203

I think it's a great idea. I'd be willing to take initiative on this, and start talking to dealers. Anybody had particularly great service from a dealer, or have a dealer they would recommend? I have taken my car to Right Honda in Scottsdale and have been particularly happy. But I'll admit, I worry everytime. If we could establish a dealer for our S2000's this would be beneficial for both sides.

Showcase has treated me very well. Chad McDonald - Assistant Service Manager - is very easy to work with.

there is only 1 problem with the preferred service, not only do s2000 owners want good service what about the people who owns civics, accords, preludes??? if this is the case everyone wants preferred service.
i dont think this will be reality.

For great service for anything non-warranty related, you should try:

Basch Acura Service
4202 E. McDowell
Phoenix
602 244 8010

Mark Basch is the owner and his shop is absolutely first rate. They do most of the service for the NSX's in town with people shipping their cars to him from out of state also. They service both Acuras and Hondas. I take all of my cars (SC NSX, SC GSR and S2000) to Mark for service, unless I need warranty work. I usually let him tell me what is wrong if it is warranty, so that I can then understand what the dealer should be working on. His customer service is the highest I have ever seen. He will also check out used cars that you are interested in buying and give you a report, without charge.

Check them out and see for yourself. Tell them Neil said Hi.

The argument that I can offer to bayarea408, is that unlike the Civic, the Accord, and the Prelude which are all serviced the same, the S2000 does not follow their same service requirements. Furthermore, due to the fundamental nature of the S2000, it requires maintenance above and beyond what your normal Civic, Accord, and Prelude does. This has been a debate that has been done on this board many times before...that the S2000 must be handled by Honda dealers...which are accustomed to handling Civics, Accords, and Preludes. Honda built the car...they understood they were badging a high performance car with the Honda name. Now they need to back up their car with quality service. This is all I ask....quality service. This is what has been severely lacking.

For normal service I will be taking my S2000 to Basch Acura...for warranty work, I will remain scared each and every time I take my car in. Maybe the outcome of this thread could change that...who knows.

I would just like to know one service advisor and one excellent S2000 mechanic that I can trust to do warranty work on my car without:
-- jacking up the car using the gas tank
-- denting my front fenders
-- bending my hood by pushing it closed
-- rotating my tires
-- leaving my engine mounts loose
-- grinding the gears for 3 minutes trying to find reverse
-- scratching the interior plastic
-- 'test driving' the car for 30 or 40 miles
(All of these have happened to owners on the board)

Going to Basch for non-warranty work is a given. Knowing where to safely go for a warranty work is difficult.

I have heard nothing but great things about Basch Acura. However, after 3 years of owning an Acura CL, I am a loyal Rick Hall's Auto Doctor fan. They have two separate shops in three locations across the valley. One serves exclusively Acura and Honda -- the other exclusively Toyota and Lexus. All technicians are factory certified by Honda or Toyota, only genuine parts are used, and prices are exceptional. I've given them countless opportunities to 'take me for a ride', but they never have. Totally honest, friendly, and reasonable.

Flagstaff Honda wanted $159 for my 15,000 mile service. I just got it at Rick Hall's for $79.99.

They are at:

8225 E Butherus, Suite # 4 (Scottsdale Airpark)
480-998-5966

7909 W Campo Bello Drive, Suite #1 (Arrowhead Towne Center)
623-412-2800

7144 S. Priest, Suite 101 (North of Warner on Priest)
480-345-1177

Not trying to steer anyone away from Basch -- just adding to the very, very small list of those we can trust with our cars.

I've had fluids changed before, and yesterday I had an alignment done under warranty at Arrowhead Honda. Both times I made an appointment and waited for the work to be done. Both times they got my car right in and back to me in less than 2 hours.

What's really unusual about Arrowhead Honda (at least I'd never seen it before), is that they have an open shop. Meaning that they not only allow, but the Service Manager encouraged me to go watch my car being worked on. Of course I took advantage of this, to discuss my S2000 with the mechanic, and to inspect the underside of the car while it was on the lift.

The service manager freely admitted that they do not get that many S2000's in the shop, but they are learning about our unique needs and since they allow you to watch your baby being worked, I think that speaks for itself.
