A bunch of RV parking? The only place there is additional RV parking is on the outside of the track in Turn 3 which was there before the remodel. The changes that have taken place once fully open for use should actually reduce infield RV parking by a couple spots based on my understanding of the changes.
The track now has banking from the start of turn 1 all the way to the exit of turn 4. The highest point in the banking is supposedly 11 degrees but that is what the previous banking was and since I have stood on both the old and new banking, I think it has increased. Coming out of 4 the banking is supposed to be 8-9 degrees. The front stretch is flat but now 10 feet wider and has safer walls in the pit wall. Pit road now has concrete pit boxes and the jump wall is equal height throughout pitroad. The old jump wall was 20 inches high in some areas and 6 inches high in other areas. The dogleg runs out about 100 feet more than it did making it more of a tri-oval. There are two new tunnels completed under the new track but sealed at least until November 2012. New track status lights have been added and in more places than the previous old style lights. The east end of the infield is 2 feet lower than it was prior to the remodel while turns 3 and 4 are actually 9 feet higher in elevation than turns 1 and 2.
Surprisingly, the cars were not any faster than before at the test that you show pictures of. I am not sure if they made it up to full speed yet or were just getting a feel for the track and what it would do to tires because that is really all that was going on out there.
To the OP, I am curious as to how you got inside the facility to take the pictures you posted. The event was an invite only session and was supposed to be restricted to Good Year tire, the teams Good Year invited, a few track employed public relations people, and track safety crews.
