Is there some trick to ensuring the elimination of air pockets? The car is running pretty hot, with no heat coming out of the heater. Popping the coolant cap shows that there is plenty of coolant in the engine. Car recently had a coolant flush along with hoses replaced and water pump replaced.

#1 Do you feel heat in the bottom hose? Your thermostat might not be opening
#2 Jack up the front of your car high enough that the radiator is the highest point of the coolant loop, and put in a radiator. I'd recommend having a fill funnel like : http://www.amazon.com/Lisle-24610-Sp.../dp/B001A4EAV0 put in some distilled water and squeeze the top hose while the engine is running and keep doing it until you feel hot water coming from the top.
Let it run for a bit jacked up with that funnel in it and you should be able to bleed out all the air

Check the Billman bleeding thread: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/106...olant+bleeding
You will definitely want to run the car at 2500 rpm during step 4.
