Our Sahuaro Miata Club friends have invited non-members to one event/drive to check out the club and activities before becoming a dues paying member to see the details on the event page. If you would like to come to your first SMC event, this one seems like fun. Just be sure to sign up at least a week in advance (the earlier the better). It can take a few days to get a response via e-mail from their club officers, so please sign up early.

With lunch at
Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino
Come join us for a November Poker run. We will start at *** in historic Florence Arizona. Then we will twist our way through Pinal county making stops to hand out cards along the way. We will end the run at the Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino. When we get to Harrah’s we will determine who has the winning hand and they will win a prize! Then we will enjoy a buffet lunch and you can relax or try your luck at some gaming fun. The buffet is $12.99 per person. If have never had a total rewards card (Cesar properties players club) you can sign up at the casino and get your lunch for free, plus $15 of free slot play. I hope to see you all there and may the best hand win!

Im down, how far is the drive? i have to make sure ill have enough e85 to make it through the whole thing.

It looks like the total time running might be under 3 hours. Where are you coming from? A full tank should do you fine for the day.

 

west valley, I can fit about 15 extra gallons in the car so should be just fine

 

From the SMC event organizer:

The poker run is approx 60 miles. There are 3 gas station in Florence also. The run starts in Florence at 10am and ends up at Harrah's Ak-Chin casino. If you keep heading north on the Hwy 347, the road the casino is on, it will intersect with I-10. There are more gas stations if you head west on I-10 (approx 1 mile) at Wild Horse Pass. We timed the run and we should arrive at Harrah's at lunch time. Once there we can eat at the buffet and gamble for those who want to. It's all up to what you want to do. The longest part of his drive might be to the starting point in Florence. I don't know where exactly he is coming from but Florence is about 50 miles from Chandler if that helps. Let me know if you need any other additional information

This actually sounds like a pretty cool idea for a run. I'd like to go but we'll just have gotten back from SEMA the night before and the wifey won't be happy with me if I go.
