Hey I was curious is there any drawback if one put regular in a tire that has nitrogen it it already.

I know the newer S2000s have Nitrogen but when they get low is it ok to just put air in them ?

Yes it is fine. Standard atmospheric air has a large concentration of N, bit also h2o, water vapor. This water vapor reacts to changes in temp much greater than pure N, so oem's started to put in pure N for more stable tire pressures. Regular air has been used in race cars and street cars, since the tire was invented.

Pv = nrt, ideal gas law. Learn it, know it for an understanding of tire pressure, internal combustion, and more.

If the stations would just run their compressed air through a dryer, all this water vapor stuff would be moot.

Air is over 70% nitrogen and over 20% oxygen, plus water vapor, CO2, argon, etc.

Yes, exactly about what I was going to say. Unless youre an F1 driver where milliseconds mean the difference between first and second place then this is practically a sugar pill.

Idea gas law, hell we could throw in a long ass equation to calc out the actual difference but with standard atmospheric gasses alreadying having 70% Nitrogen in it, the remaining 30% wont mean crap to guys like us.

Nitrogen tire inflation = sugar pill

Btw since Nitrogen is also a diatomic element like oxygen, Nitrogen is lighter yes, weighing in at 14grams per mole where oxygen is only 16 grams per mole. The average tire holds about 18L of gas @ STP... ok F this, if im not getting a grade im not gonna explain it from a chemists perspective lool, just save your money for a 12 pack or an ounce of weed.

I like to produce methane more, If I could get the proper adaptor id methane inflate my tires!
