I had an absolute blast on the drive. I realized I was pushing myself in the begining of the hairpins when a couple times I had the tires yellin and was pulling into the opposing lane in the turn. Probably has a lot to do with my tire condition, but I noticed it myself and backed off to where I needed to be.

Other than that, I liked the roller-coaster ride a bunch, what a headrush! Jerome was an incredible sight to see for a first time, and lunch was awesome. Driving home on the 17 was even fun, other than the first 10 min or so going walking pace. Picked up a black Si that followed Adam and I for the second half, was kinda cool. Thanks for gettin us home quick, Adam. I made it to dinner just in time so that my mom and sister didn't kill me for missing Mother's Day haha

And despite my little incident, I had a blast, too. Adam, that was a fun route. gnk (only k on this drive) and I tooled back together most of the way down I-17, but I decided to stop at the first gas station I saw after our brief stop at Sunset Point Rest Area, and our first looks at the Crown King fire smoke, which is where we parted. An alternate route for east valley dwellers was another scenic drive on 260 to 87, always a blast, and staked out with LE officers, too.

I would have appreciated the stop in Prescott for refueling opportunities. I was following RedChili by that time and we took a slightly different than published route. Once we got off the path, I didn't want to risk trying to find the group route again, as he seemed to know his way through that town. I know this group doesn't like strict rules, but what about leaving promptly at the stated departure time? That would be a step in keeping the group as a whole, and the re-grouping opportunities were good for the first gas stop and lunch. Overall, a very good job organizing, planning and executing the day trip.

roger and i took 260 to 87 after we left jerome. hardly a soul on the roads til we got to strawberry. the road was ours and the weather on top of the hill was gorgeous. once again great trip and i think that ride should happen again at some point this year.

I'm sorry I missed the ride. Sounds like everyone had fun. Nice to see some other CR's in the group. What do you think of my daily driver. I made some updates given the high miles.
