IMO the modification will cost more than an aftermarket louvered hood plus paint.
AFAIK (I'm not a certified S2K guru yet) the OEM hood is aluminum. This means tha fab work will be $$$. Then you will need to have it painted afterwards and that is more $$$. Add it all up and compare it to the cost of an aftermarket hood plus paint. Don't forget the fact that you will have two hoods to choose from.

There are a number of different "areas" under the hood to do this in a pattern you may like and it is near free. I have been wanting to do something similar to keep underhood temps down.
