If you're going to do that, make sure you get the Mugen Thermo, Fan swtich, cap too.

Actually doing Spoon T-Stat and Mugen fan switch. Seen mixed reviews on the radiator cap so I will stick with OEM for now.

I've got all the Mugen cooling mods...no complaints here. As for the Spoon vs Mugen Tstat...spoon opens a little colder...in my opinion a little too cold if people occasionally don't get 3 bars with it (AP1) but thats my opinion. Its not going to cause problems

Yeah, I know the spoon t-stat opens a little colder than the Mugen. Do not think it will be a problem here in Arizona.

Not getting the 3 bars is not really that big of an issue. VTECH is based on oil temp instead of water temp. Most people running the spoon hit 3 bars and then it drops down to 2 (oscillating between the two in stop and go traffic).

Do you have the hondata gasket on your car?

Mugen cap here. It's only .1 more...doubt it changes anything but it's mega-bling!

Is it impossible to do t-stat and fan switch without removing IM?

Also, I don't remember the details but you're not supposed to change those with FI (or was it aftermarket ECU?).

You can do the tstat and fan switch without removing the intake.

Never heard you should not change those items with FI or non-OEM ECU - I think the majority of the FI crew made those changes and many are running AEM EMS.

I haven't changed any of those and have not had any problems.

Yep...I have the hondata gasket on as well as the mugen cooling mods...and I agree that a spoon tstat in AZ may actually be better...as long as your not in norAZ
