Default Hondata Intake Gasket Install

Will be doing one next Saturday 2/17 if anyone is interested in checking it out or considered doing one.

Have heard it takes anywhere from 2 hours to 8 hours - hoping for something closter to the former

I'd stop by. PM me directions. Want to do this on mine someday.

I've done it on B-series and the worst part was removing the old paper gasket. Had to use the bubbling spray and then scrape it off but it got all over the place.

Oh man, what a pain in the ass that was. Get yourself some nice swivel heads and extensions some of those bolts are near impossible to reach. Plus my hands were all scratched up by the end of the day. Lots of cursing and cussing, if you know what I mean.

The S2000 gasket is metal - supposed to come right off.

Here is the tutorial I will be following:

You should stop by and share your expertise. Even willing to let you re-experience the scratched hands thing again.

Pretty sure I have the tools covered - heard a back brace/support was a good idea also.

Sorry playing in a softball tournament all day Saturday. You don't have a lift right? Some of those bolts would be a hell of a lot easier to get to from underneath, I'm sure of it.

No lift in my garage - have floor jack and stands. Thinking it will be easier if the car were 12-18 inches higher anywho.

Yes...I've done it and it did take around 8 hours...but I did it by myself too. I'd help, but I don't have a car right now and have "family" coming out and a canyon trip planned.

Good luck.

I know that its a lot easier taking the alternator/belt out, but there are still a few bolts that are just a pain to reach. Ooh, and for some reason I COULD NOT get the harness off the coolant temp sensor and the tubing on the EGR valve was pretty stuck as well.

PITA. Definately need some swivels/extensions. We broke 2 craftsman swivel sockets doing mine.

If you're going to do that, make sure you get the Mugen Thermo, Fan swtich, cap too.
