Default Help me out AZ d00ds!

AZ!

Been talking to this seller for about a week now on her S2000 motor that is for sale.

Our PM's:

Hello!

Thank you for the PM. Yes, pictures would be nice so I can determine what I am dealing with. So if you don't mind I would like to ask some questions about the engine.

1. How much would it be to ship the engine to Glendale, AZ 85306?
2. Exact mileage of the engine?
3. Anything done to the engine (i.e. performance parts or any modifications)?
4. Everything included in the engine purchase (i.e. throttle body, intake, etc.)?

Thanks!
Marky Mark

Hi!

1. How much would it be to ship the engine to Glendale, AZ 85306? I need to get a shipping quote for this as it will probably end up being freight.

2. Exact mileage of the engine? 45,908 (see my updated post with more pictures)

3. Anything done to the engine (i.e. performance parts or any modifications)? I did nothing to the engine, kept everything fully stock. This engine is coming out of my 03 as I'm taking the one in this silver s2k that I'm parting out. I bought the 03 back in November/December. I haven't been driving it one bit because it does not a valve adjustment, which is reflected in the price tag. I don't plan on driving it daily until the F20 is out because it needs a valve adjustment, so the mileage and everything else will remain the same.

4. Everything included in the engine purchase (i.e. throttle body, intake, etc.)?
The price does not include the ECU or the harness. It's just the complete engine, intake manifold, headers, alternator, A/C. If you'd like the ECU I'll give it to you for $100 and the harness is another $200.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks!
Jessica

So what do you all think? Valve Adjustment? Price?
I KINDA know about the valve adjustment through searching the forums, but what all does that mean? Is it pricey?

I am SO tempted because of the mileage and price.
She is a SOCAL native.

She's not driving the car and replacing the motor because it needs a valve adjustment? Am I missing something here?

Sounds suspect to me. I have heard many a Honda engine with 100,000 miles that never had a valve adjustment and sure there a little noisy, but not so loud that someone would say they wouldn't drive it.

I hate to be a downer but I'd guess its got something else wrong with it...

If all it needs is a valve adjust, thats FREE!!!

The fact she said it needs a valve adjust that's why she hasn't driven it sounds fishy to me!! Sounds more like it FLOATED VALVES and needs a valve job thats why its so cheap!!! Its all on you on this one. Have them do a compression check with it out of the car and varify the numbers with what they are showing once you get it. If they are different get your money back. Make sure you work up a bill of sale and transaction with all numbers present before buying it. Just my .02
