I had a clear bra and head-light protection done today - I asked the owner if he would be interested in sponsoring an S2000 meet and he said he certainly would (like a couple free head-light protection kit installions, and coupons good towards a discount on window tint or a clear bra installation). Of course he commented that he typically only does it for meets that have a good turn-out.

This is the shop that did my work - http://www.phprotection.com/

They are located in Chandler at Arizona and Elliott. He did an awsome job on my clear bra and headlights if anyone is looking.
thats pretty cool

9KRDLIN what do you think about editing the signup thread with these links to pictures from our past Fun in the Suns?

2007 - http://s2000arizona.com/gallery/inthesun07
2006 - http://s2000arizona.com/gallery/inthesun06
2005 - http://s2000arizona.com/gallery/inthesun

Also, it probably would be a good idea to just paste in a few of the good pics at the top of the thread - kinda like marketing our event a bit. Speaking of more marketing can you also add something like:

"Come one come all to the annual Fun in the Sun mega-meet in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. This March event is going to be one of the years events you'll not want to miss. The previous years events were fun for everyone with lots to do. In fact, last years meet gathered over 70 S's from all over the Southwest. The fun will begin with a Friday night get-together at one of the most happening nightclubs in town. This opener will provide an informal atmosphere to meet new S-owners and catch up with those that you already know. Saturday we've planned a parade drive to a central meeting location, typically a local Honda dealership, where we will register for a full day of fun activities including; a drive through the scenic back roads of Arizona, a BBQ full of good eats and talk, a raffle for great door prizes and of course the Ultimate S Contest where the attendees vote for the best S. Then to close out this festive weekend we'll enjoy a Sunday brunch where we can eat lots of tasty food, share our stories from the day before and then say our good-byes to all our new friends. So, sign up and let us know if you can make it for some Fun in the Sun in Phoenix. We'll finalize all the details soon to make this one of the best S-events you'll ever attend."

"There will be a $25 to $30 fee per person for the Saturday festivities, prizes and BBQ. Fee will also get you a custom designed event T-shirt so you can relive your fond memories through out the remainder of the year"

"We'll provide instructions and updates for this event in this thread as we finalize them. So, come back and visit often. We'll provide the how and who to send your checks, the where we will meet and eat, and provide a list of AZS2KI members who you can contact for additional information."

*end*

OK, once we hear back from Dat Boi about Tempe Honda we can kick this event into V-Tec and make it happen. The confirmation from Tempe will also enable us to pick the hotel for out of towners and of course the night clubs for Fri and Sat nights.

skibum any word on the T-shirts from Polizei Clothing? Also, who's going to do the graphics for the shirts? Any one literate and have access to a graphics tool? It will be cool to get this graphic designed so we can include it in the thread, etc for a common look and feel.

And like Neutered suggested let's have a planning meeting. I will offer up my house (NW Glendale), or we can pick a central locale and meet / drink during our meeting.

I still want to caution about over promotion this early. We don't have dates or really a good idea of actual registration costs - how much are the t-shirts, how much will local cost, bbq grill rental, food, etc.

We need to have a dedicated meeting to plan this bit of info out - but we can't really do that till we have a location and date.

I agree. The better the planning the better chance you will have at breaking even. I have been involved in events where the club gets stuck with a not so nice of a bill. In this case, it will be one of the organizers. Know your costs upfront and then figure out who pays and how.
