Emissions Exempt

Emissions Exempt
I'm looking to pick up an older vehicle 1976 to be exact. Is there a way to have it emissions exempt? I hear that as long as you have another vehicle insured you can register it as a "collector" thus bypassing emissions. Can anyone clear this up for me please.

If your car can be insured as a collector car then it can be registered as a collector car. The having a daily driver part is a stipulation applied by the insurance company, not the DMV.

I don't know. Can the car you are purshasing be insured as a collectors car?
The car might be old enough where it just doesn't have to be smogged. Try giving the DMV a call and see what they say.

YES anything older than 25 years is available for Historic Plate in Arizona. if you have a Historic Plate you have NO EMISSIONS!! Buddy used to have na early 80's jeep we used to romp the shit out of and had historic plates, drove on the streets and had no emissions.
