Dinner?
What are some good places to have dinner in the Scottsdale area? I'm in town for a few days and am starving. I'm at the Residence Inn off of North Scottsdale Blvd. If anyone wants to join me, that's cool too.

Italian food - La Locanda at the corner of Shea and Scottsdale Rd.
Chinese - Flo's Kitchen at Thompson Peak and Frank LLoyd Wright or George and Sons at Frank LLoyd Wright and Via Linda
Japanese - I have heard Sapporo is good, but my favorite is Hiro Sushi on 90th St.
Splurge food - Morton's steak house on Scottsdale at the north end of Kierland Commons.
There is a Benihana not far from you - but it's not a very good one.
Fox Sports Grill is not far away on Scottsdale north of Frank Lloyd Wright - that's pretty good
On Scottsdale at Gainey Ranch is the Village Tavern - quite good American food.
That should get you started

I'll still give it a shot. Do you have a hardtop? I saw a silverstone S2K from far away w/hardtop and spoiler on North Scottsdale. And a yellow one turning onto Chapparal.

Nope no hardtop for me - I'm too tall - can't wear a helmet in a hardtop. My Silverstone is a garage queen - gets driven only at auto-x's and on weekends or when other cars are getting worked on.
You see lots of S2k's here in Scottsdale. I see at least 3 or 4 a day.
How long are you in town for?

Thanks for the list of restaurants. I just moved to Scottsadle myself and have only been to Sapporo. I will try out La Locanda this weekend.
I heard Clam Jumper is good. Not sure if it's a chain restaurant.

Ayako is pretty good. When I want teppanyaki, I will go to Ayako, but the consistently best Japanese food (sushi, sashimi) I think is Hiro Sushi - small place on 90th Street. Miso soup is always good - sometimes great, and they always have good edamame - which is rare here in Phoenix (I think).
Sperkin, Claim Jumpers is a chain restaurant. It's pretty good for a chain. I lived in the Bay Area (Redwood City and Palo Alto) for twenty years before moving here, so I know good Chinese food and in general, the Chinese places here are OK - not great compared to the Bay Area.
