The roads and traffic patterns in the Bay Area are horrible. I can't imagine S owners keep their cars clean or undamaged for very long.

California in general is pretty bad but San Jose was awful when I lived there.

I lived here in the past as well but it wasn't this bad. If I owned an S here I would have to live in the mountains or ocean. Maybe Santa Cruz area or north of the Bay. The East Bay is just torn to shreds when it comes to roads and construction traffic.

Why is it that every time you don't need a part, the market is saturated with them and they cost pennies, but as soon as you need one, everything dries up and it costs much more?

I didn't need an AP1 bumper before, but as soon as the thought creeped into my mind, every single one that had been on craigslist had disappeared and the ones available anywhere now cost twice as much.

Just buy it new. It's only $250 which is super reasonable.
