Default Battery Recommendations - Phoenix, AZ

It's been about two years since I bought my last battery, and I probably ran it down today with the radio on and doors open while doing some clean up work. I got it started with a booster battery, but I figure that it's time to replace it. What are your recommendations for an S battery that can survive in our Arizona desert?

Battery that came with my car was a Super Start which Oreilly's I believe. I just recently replaced it and it had an late 2011 production code, so about 2.5 years of use. I'm not sure if anyone's lead/acid is better than any other. It's best to get a Battery Tender Jr. to keep it topped off.

I just had it tested. Voltage is good, so no alternator worries. Just 150 amps left of the 475 cca that is supposedly started with. I think in 30 years, I've only had one car battery last more than two Arizona summers, despite its warranty. This battery has a 6-year warranty with a 3 year replacement for free, so I should be able to get a replacement for it. I believe that I got this battery in July (or summer) of 2012,so that's almost 2 1/2 years. About average, I guess.

I suppose I should remember to budget for a new battery every two years. You'd think I would have learned this lesson long ago. I'm not surprised that the battery failed. Phoenix summers are just brutal on them.

Has anyone had a battery really last longer than 2 to 2.5 years in the Phoenix area?

AGM battery will last 3+ years. You can charge them as well.

optimas. it lasts twice as much of regular batteries but its price is twice as much. lol my recommendation is to get a regular battery and make sure get it tested/replaced right before the warranty ends. if you go with a honda one (comes with 3 years), you'll get close to 6 years total with one purchase.

If you buy a battery from AAA they are backed by a six-year warranty with three years of free replacement and if you're a member there's a discount on the battery.

I use Odyssey PC 680s in all my cars. I have seen some last for 8 years, they are about half the weight and size of the other batteries and spill proof.
The extra benefit for me is I can connect them to my 3,450w home theater stereo inside for extra power.
