Default Auto Cross at Firebird Feb. 2nd All Day, Private Event

The Ace Corvette Club is having an Autocross event at Firebird and has given permission to share it with some other groups to see if we have anyone else interested in joining us. Here is a copy and paste from the Ace Event:

We are on. I got my contract from Firebird today for Feb 2nd...

When: Feb 2nd 2013, sunrise to sunset
Where: Firebird International Raceway Lot#4
Cost $75.00 (prepaid)
Cost to rent $3280 so we need at least 40 drivers to cover the bill...

Come out for a fun autocross, where you can drive your Corvette like you stole it.
No official timers, just stop watches.
The only workers will be to run the stop watches. (no one on track)
Get in as many runs as you want, last year someone managed to run 25 times.
Professional help....a Bondurant hot shoe may show up to pick on how bad we are behind the wheel
non-professional help will be provided by the rest of us!

Feb 2nd 2013 Firebird lot #4
7:00AM Gates Open
7:15AM Registration and Tech Inspection Open
Course available for walking as soon as possible.
7:50AM Driver's Meeting (Required)
8:00AM First car starts
(all times approximate)

Everyone will have to sign a waiver at registration! Spectators will need to sign upon arrival.

Helmets are required! (Firebird has no loaners, so if you don't have one get with someone to share)
Convertibles are allowed!
Registration will assign car number and waiver to sign.
Tech inspection will check for loose items, battery secured, all lugnuts on and tight, helmet, seatbelts etc.etc.

REMEMBER, this is a fun autox, we don't have timing equipment so a stopwatch will be used.
A couple of volunteers will be needed for timing, recording times. Please help if you can so everyone gets some seat time.

We will take small breaks as needed to give workers time to get whatever done, if you can help at all then let us know!
Anyone want to join in?

Is this like Groupon whereas if we don't get enough people the funds are returned?

If for some reason it does not happen yes you will get a refund. However it is my understanding this is going to happen regardless of how many more we get, they would just like more.

Autocross with no workers on course?
No one expects a corvette to hit cones?

So who's going to reset the cones when they get bumped?

I think he meant cones. See this quote from the end of the quote:
We will take small breaks as needed to give workers time to get whatever done
Besides its not like we can't pick up cones if for some reason its really not being covered by the workers. Or we can find someone in the Home Depot parking lot to do it for 30.00 probably.
