Default Arizona Shops for Head Rebuild

Hey guys, I'm 90% sure I have at least one bent valve and will need a cylinder head rebuild. I don't know all the details because I haven't stripped down the engine yet, but could I get some suggestions to shops that have a good reputation, a legit shop/good machine shop they send it to, trustworthy, etc? I'll be talking to smart automotive this week and I have already talked to Big B's, since they are family friends. I'd love to NOT take it to a dealership because of ridiculous prices.

Madhav was also selling fully rebuilt heads. I don't know if he still does it anymore.

If I recall correctly you're looking at something like a $1,500 if you need to pull your head, replace parts, have it milled, and reinstalled, oil, new gaskets, ect. That's not specific, that's just what comes to mind off the top of my head. I'll let him know about this post. I'm sure he'll contact you if he is still doing that sort of thing.

Ben @ Enjoy is another good option, and he is close to you as well.

As far as machine shop, I'd say S&S in Mesa. They've done a couple for me and some friends and they always come out great. They are also a mechanic shop but I've never had them do any mechanical work for me.

I agree with everyone. S&S for machine work. Make sure they use oem valve stem seals. And Madhav for installation, you won't find a better head installer

You want whoever Madhav trusts for the machine work, and if he's willing Madhav again for the install.

I took it to Ben to get the leak down test. Took it to S&S before that for a bunch of service and maintenance. They charged me $140 for a f@#king oil change. Not happy with them.

Yes, everyone I've talked to estimates $1,200-2,000. I'll look up Madhav! Thanks guys. More suggestions are very welcome, whether it be another s2k owner or any other good shop.

Does the member search not work? I can't find that guy, I searched for Madhav and Bawssfab. Does he have a business website?
