Talking Apexi VAFC Tuning

Anyone have a VAFC in the S? Is it worth it? I have one that is set at factor null. I tried to have the car tuned with the VAFC, but when the car was handed over, the engine would die at 4.5k where it appears that the tech moved the VTEC down to. It was a disaster. So, the VAFC was reset and all is fine.
Word on a good tuner?
Word on tossing out the VAFC?

I don't think it would do much unless you have mods that could perform better with tuning.

There is a little power to gain from a stock S using an EMS. Mostly though, it just allows for a different redline and VTEC engagement point (what I'm looking at a GReddy eManage Ultimate for)

You may want to check out the search function when it comes to the v-afc. I think the overall consensus is they do little to nothing on the s2000. The best "bang for your buck" seems to be the EMS, but if youre looking for something a little more cost effective and dont need all the funtions, you may want to look into the greddy e-manage

i just want to move my vtec down lower, to where it crosses over with the low cam profile, so i am making peak hp all the time. the dyno don't lie, it helps, just how much... it would help midrange a bit.

Go with the eManage. Rumor has it that the stock ECU overrides the VAFC at partial throttle, I don't believe this is the case with the eManage.

There's a thread on tuning with the eManage in the New England forum...

i had the e-manage on my civic, piece of shit. that thing didn't do much of anything, go with the ultimate at the very least. the regular e-manage was the worst fuel management. wasn't very drivable even after a tune, so i went crome and it drive like factory now... same tuner on both, just the e-manage blows. to be honest, after that badd of an experience, i won't ever buy another greddy product.
