Wow, that's a good scam, and I'm sure ebay took their cut and washed their hands of the whole thing.

I really miss the time when most people you dealt with were just plain honest and a handshake meant everything. This global economy thing sucks ass.

It comes down to risk vs. profit like everything else.

Sometimes it's worth paying extra to support a good store (A-J!) or just piece of mind.

Funny parts was I told him I thought it was a scam, pointing out that the user was in Wisconson and the pictures of the MG showed a car in the background that looked like it had a european style plate on it. I even provided him the links to the recommended escrow sites. Still he wanted the car so bad, felt it was a deal that could not be missed, etc.. and he did not listen to my recommendations.

I was looking for a 67 Mustang FB or 67 Camaro this past summer and almost every listing I checked out on ebay was shutdown in 1-2 days because it was fraudulent. Plus its funny to find 2 67 Comaros for sale at the same time in different locations but using the same pictures.

Feedback seems to be going downhill over the past six months...I would just pony up the extra buck and a half and buy from the source.
